This posting is <strong>ONLY</strong><strong> </strong>for City employees who are requesting to be placed on a transfer list.<br><br>Click on the "apply" button to submit the required application and supplemental questionnaire. it is in your best interest to fully complete the transfer application as you would a regular application.<br><br><strong>Please note, transfer applications are only accepted from regular, non-probationary City of Modesto employees. Placement on a transfer list is not a guarantee a transfer will occur.</strong><br><br>The City's Personnel Rules define transfer as, "A change in employment status of a regular employee from one position to another within the same class, or a comparable class. 'Comparable' means a class with similar duties and responsibilities, and the same or similar minimum qualifications, and the same salary range." (Rule 1.7a.)<br><br>From Personnel Rule 7.5 Method of Filling Vacancies (7.7 Transfer): As an alternative to appointment from an eligibility list, a position may be filled by a transfer of a regular employee in the same or a comparable class, upon recommendation of the department head(s) concerned. In the event of a dispute, the action is subject to the review by the City Manager or designee before it becomes final. Transfers shall not be used to evade rules governing promotion, downgrade, demotion, advancement, or reduction. No employee shall be transferred to a position for which he/she does not possess the minimum employment standards.
