Job Summary

Lead and manage a squad focused on data management initiatives, ensuring data quality, governance, and accessibility to support RHB Bank Berhad's strategic objectives.

Job Responsibilities

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of data management professionals, fostering a culture of high performance and continuous improvement.
  • Oversee the end-to-end data lifecycle, including data acquisition, integration, quality, governance, and retention.
  • Define and implement data management initiatives, policies, and procedures in alignment with industry best practices and regulatory requirements (e.g., BNM, GDPR).
  • Collaborate with various business units and IT stakeholders to understand data requirements and deliver effective data solutions.
  • Drive data management initiatives to improve resiliency of Enterprise Data Platforms to deliver timely and quality data to business stakeholders.
  • Manage data-related projects, including planning, execution, monitoring, and reporting, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to budget.
  • Identify and resolve data-related issues, working with relevant teams to implement permanent solutions.
  • Champion data literacy and promote a data-driven culture within the organization.
  • Evaluate and recommend new data management tools and technologies to enhance capabilities.
  • Work with IT and IT Enterprise Architecture team for architecture alignment and approval for analytics capabilities initiatives
  • Identify and implement new tools and technologies to enhance data management capabilities.
  • Report on the progress and performance of data management initiatives to senior leadership.

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in data management, data governance, or data architecture, with at least 3 years in a leadership or supervisory role.
  • Proven experience in managing and mentoring data professionals.
  • Strong understanding of data governance frameworks, data quality principles, and data warehousing / data lake concepts.
  • Experience with relevant data management tools and technologies (e.g., SQL, ETL tools, data quality, platforms).
  • Familiarity with regulatory requirements relevant to the financial services industry in Malaysia (e.g., BNM guidelines).
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
