Short-Form Video Editor Intern, Fall 2026

The Opportunity<p>Low Battery is building culture’s most influential social-first platform for the next generation of fans across music, sports, fashion, gaming, and the internet. What started with RapTV is now a network of nine brands reaching more than 53 million fans and generating over 200 million monthly views. Our brands include RapTV, Bars, Drip, Controller, Pop Hive, and more.</p><p><br></p><p>We create platform-native content, original formats, artist collaborations, and live-event coverage around the people and moments shaping culture.</p><p><br></p>The Role<p>Low Battery is looking for an early-career short-form video editor to join our Los Angeles team for a paid Fall 2026 internship. This is a hands-on editing role for someone who understands how strong hooks, pacing, captions, sound design, and platform-native formatting turn raw footage into content people want to watch and share.</p><p><br></p><p>You will work directly with Low Battery’s short-form producers, editors, and page managers to support recurring network-wide output, original formats, timely cultural moments, artist opportunities, and live-event coverage.</p><p><br></p><p>The role is fully in office every Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, with select additional shoots, festivals, and tentpole dates scheduled in advance.</p><p><br></p>What You’ll Do<ul><li>Edit vertical short-form videos for Instagram Reels, TikTok, X, and YouTube Shorts</li><li>Support recurring output across RapTV, Bars, and other Low Battery brands</li><li>Edit artist interviews, fan content, host-led formats, original series, live footage, and timely cultural moments</li><li>Add captions, sound design, music, graphics, and brand-specific packaging</li><li>Complete same-day and next-day edits when required</li><li>Execute repeatable and template-driven formats while maintaining quality and consistency</li><li>Create alternate hooks, cutdowns, and platform-specific versions when requested</li><li>Apply creative feedback quickly and accurately across revision rounds</li><li>Support producers by dumping, organizing, and uploading footage following shoots as needed</li><li>Maintain organized Google Drive folders, project files, exports, and source assets for clean handoffs</li><li>Clearly communicate edit status, deadlines, availability, and blockers</li><li>Support rapid-turn post-production during planned festivals, shoots, and tentpoles</li><li>Collaborate in person with producers, editors, and page managers throughout the editing process</li></ul><p><br></p>What We’re Looking For<ul><li>A portfolio demonstrating strong vertical short-form editing</li><li>Proficiency in CapCut and/or Adobe Premiere Pro</li><li>Working knowledge of Adobe After Effects, including motion graphics, text animation, and basic compositing</li><li>A strong understanding of hooks, pacing, captions, sound design, and social-first packaging</li><li>Ability to follow references and creative direction without losing personal judgment</li><li>Ability to apply feedback quickly and reduce repeated notes across revisions</li><li>Strong attention to detail across audio, captions, graphics, framing, and exports</li><li>Reliable communication around deadlines, progress, and blockers</li><li>Consistent availability to work in the Downtown Los Angeles office Tuesday through Thursday</li><li>Availability for select planned shoots, festival weekends, and tentpoles</li><li>Genuine interest in music, entertainment, sports, fashion, gaming, internet culture, or youth media</li><li>We welcome current students, community-college students, recent graduates, recent high-school graduates, gap-year candidates, and other early-career editors with the skills and availability to contribute consistently.</li></ul><p><br></p>What Success Looks Like<ul><li>Consistently delivering clean, platform-native edits on schedule</li><li>Turning raw footage into engaging short-form content with strong hooks and clear creative judgment</li><li>Requiring fewer preventable revision rounds as the internship progresses</li><li>Applying references and feedback accurately without needing repeated direction</li><li>Communicating proactively when a deadline or deliverable is at risk</li><li>Maintaining organized project files and reliable handoffs</li><li>Becoming a dependable editing resource across everyday output, production days, and planned tentpoles</li><li>Demonstrating meaningful growth in quality, speed, judgment, and coachability throughout the term</li></ul><p><br></p>Culture at Low Battery<p>Making our vision a reality requires uncommon commitment, high standards, direct communication, and a willingness to learn quickly.</p><p><br></p><p>You should not apply if:</p><ul><li>Receiving direct feedback makes you uncomfortable</li><li>Occasional irregular hours, including planned evenings or weekends, are off the table</li><li>Early-stage pace, urgency, or ambiguity makes it difficult for you to operate</li><li>You are comfortable submitting work that is only “good enough”</li></ul><p><br></p><p><strong>Location:</strong> Los Angeles, CA - in office</p><p><strong>Schedule:</strong> Tuesday through Thursday, approximately 24 hours per week, with occasional additional shoots, weekdays, evenings, or weekends scheduled in advance</p><p><strong>Compensation:</strong> $20 per hour</p><p><strong>Term: </strong>Fall 2026, including select planned festivals and tentpoles</p><p><br></p><p><br></p>
