RN – Clinic – Family Practice (Remote & 4S Ranch)

With offices throughout San Diego County, our doctors specialize in family medicine, internal medicine, pediatrics, and obstetrics and gynecology. Some locations also provide rheumatology and orthopedics care. When further specialty care is needed, you have access to an extensive network of medical experts throughout the region. Scripps also provides health education resources, including weight management programs, nutrition and fitness classes, and programs for chronic conditions, such as diabetes.

Job Description

This is a benefited, full-time position with 8-hour weekday shifts and occasional weekend coverage as needed. The role is hybrid, with a combination of on-site work at the 4S Ranch clinic and remote work. Initial training will be conducted on-site for 2–8 weeks (40 hours per week), with the duration dependent on training progress. After training, the schedule will consist of one week on-site followed by four weeks remote. Hours: 8-hour shifts with start times between 8:00 AM and 8:30 AM, based on operational needs

Join Scripps as Registered Nurse (RN) Clinic – Family Medicine where you will ensure Scripps patients and their families have an exceptional health care experience.

What you’ll do:

  • Primarily indirect patient care (phones, messages) but may provide direct patient care when working on site.
  • Assist patients, staff, and physicians as needed to maintain a high level of efficiency of operations and customer service while providing quality care to the designated patient population.
  • Assist with the leadership of the clinical and clerical staff.
  • Provide direct and indirect patient care within the scope of practice.
  • Phone triage and triaging patients who present to the clinic
  • Assist with phone calls and portal messages
  • Documentation in EMR (electronic medical record)
  • Perform nursing tasks within scope of practice.
  • Support OBGYN and work a hybrid of onsite and remote to assist the team as needed.
  • Practice autonomously consistent with ANA Standards of Practice and Professional Performance and be able to delegate tasks appropriately.
  • Independent judgment is expected to be exercised within the context of interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary approaches to patient care.

Requirements

Required Education/Experience/Specialized Skills/Certification/Registration::

  • ADN or Nursing Diploma
  • CA RN license
  • BLS from American Heart Association

Preferred Education/Experience/Specialized Skills/Certification:

  • Minimum of 2 years of Adult RN experience
  • RN experience in Pediatric and/or OB/GYN settings
  • Telephone triage experience
  • Clinic or outpatient experience
  • Prior remote work experience
  • Proficiency with Epic EHR
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite
 

Position Pay Range: $51.66-$74.92/hour

Please also note this range is applicable for employees who reside in California only. A geographical pay differential may be applied for remote employees who reside out of state.
