[Remote] Product Owner, Admin Reporting - Equity

They are seeking a Product Owner to support the administrative reporting domain within the Certent Equity Management platform, responsible for translating reporting needs into requirements and managing the backlog to ensure successful delivery of features and enhancements. Responsibilities Own and maintain the administrative reporting backlog, ensuring stories are groomed, prioritized, and ready for sprint planning in alignment with the broader CEM reporting roadmap Write detailed user stories, acceptance criteria, and functional specifications for new admin reports, report enhancements, filters, scheduling capabilities, export formats, and data presentation improvements Define edge cases, data boundary conditions, and output validation rules for reports spanning participant demographics, grant activity, vesting schedules, transaction history, plan status, tax withholding, and corporate actions Triage and prioritize incoming admin reporting defects and enhancement requests from Customer Support, Professional Services, and direct customer escalations Partner with the Senior Product Manager to align admin reporting priorities with broader platform strategy and cross-domain dependencies Serve as the primary product point of contact for the engineering team during sprint execution on admin reporting workstreams Participate in all Agile ceremonies — sprint planning, daily standups, backlog refinement, sprint reviews, and retrospectives Accept or reject completed work against defined acceptance criteria, ensuring delivered reports meet accuracy, performance, and usability standards expected of a financial services SaaS platform Validate report output against source data, confirming calculation integrity, filtering behavior, sort logic, and export fidelity across formats (PDF, Excel, CSV) Track delivery progress and flag risks, blockers, or scope changes to the Senior Product Manager promptly Develop and maintain deep expertise in CEM's administrative reporting capabilities — understanding the full inventory of existing reports, their underlying data sources, user workflows, and known limitations Identify reporting gaps by analyzing customer requests, support ticket patterns, and competitive offerings to build a prioritized enhancement pipeline Define reporting standards and conventions for consistency across the admin reporting suite — including naming conventions, default filter behavior, column ordering, date handling, and pagination Partner with the Financial Reporting Product Owner to ensure alignment on shared data models, terminology, and reporting infrastructure where admin and financial reporting intersect Evaluate and recommend improvements to report generation performance, particularly for large-scale batch reports and high-volume participant datasets Coordinate with QA to define test scenarios and validate admin reporting output across plan types, participant populations, grant configurations, and edge case data conditions Partner with other CEM Product Owners (Admin, ESPP, Batch Processing, Broker) to ensure admin reports accurately reflect upstream data changes and new platform capabilities Collaborate with Professional Services to understand customer reporting configurations, common customization requests, and implementation pain points that can be addressed through product improvements Work with Customer Support to review recurring reporting-related tickets, identify root causes, and prioritize fixes that reduce support volume Support Product Marketing with release notes, feature documentation, and reporting capability summaries for sales enablement and customer communications Skills 1+ years in a product owner, business analyst, or junior product management role, preferably in B2B SaaS environments 2+ years of experience in equity management, equity compensation, or financial services platforms Demonstrated experience writing detailed user stories, acceptance criteria, and functional specifications for reporting or analytics features Strong track record of working directly with engineering teams in Agile/Scrum environments Excellent attention to detail, analytical skills, and written communication abilities — particularly around data accuracy and output validation Solid understanding of equity compensation principles, including stock options, RSUs, RSAs, ESPP, performance awards, and participant lifecycle events Familiarity with administrative reporting needs in equity plan management — participant rosters, grant summaries, vesting schedules, transaction logs, tax withholding reports, and plan activity dashboards Working knowledge of report design concepts — filters, parameters, grouping, sorting, drill-down, scheduled delivery, and export formatting Ability to engage credibly with engineering on data models, query logic, and report rendering considerations Familiarity with JIRA or similar backlog management tools Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Information Systems, or a related field required CEP (Certified Equity Professional) certification, any level, is a plus MBA or similar advanced degree preferred Direct experience with the Certent Equity Management platform or comparable
