Remote Product Manager, Wallet

Airbnb was born in 2007 when two hosts welcomed three guests to their San Francisco home, and has since grown to over 5 million hosts who have welcomed over 2 billion guest arrivals in almost every country across the globe. Every day, hosts offer unique stays and experiences that make it possible for guests to connect with communities in a more authentic way.

The Community You Will Join

Our Product Managers imagine the ideal experience for our community and work backwards, creating innovative products that delight guests. They deeply understand user needs and translate these into strategies that combine strong product thinking with deep research. They partner with talented cross-functional teams across Engineering, Design, Analytics, Data Science, Finance, and Payments, leading teams to execute a shared vision. Critically, they work alongside platform product teams who build the underlying capabilities — knowing when to own, when to collaborate, and when to hand off.

You will be joining the Wallet team, working closely with Payments, Design, Engineering, Finance, Analytics, Trust & Safety, and our broader Guest Experience organization to build the financial home for every Airbnb guest.

The Difference You Will Make

We are seeking an exceptional product marketing leader to define and build Wallet — Airbnb's new financial hub for guests. Wallet will transform how guests manage their financial relationship with Airbnb, bringing together payment methods, stored value, credits, and spending features into one trusted, engaging place that guests return to between trips — not just at checkout.

You will drive the product vision and roadmap for Wallet end-to-end: from the core financial hub experience through to its integration with Payments and Checkout. The ideal candidate brings deep experience building consumer financial products, understands the payments ecosystem, and has the checkout and conversion instincts to reduce friction at the moment of booking. Success in this role means guests proactively managing their financial relationship with Airbnb, higher credits and stored value utilization, and Wallet becoming the platform on which future financial products are built.

A Typical Day

  • Lead the product vision, strategy, and roadmap for Wallet — defining what it means to give every Airbnb guest a financial home they trust and return to.

  • Build the core Wallet experience: payment method management, spending power visibility (credits, stored value, refunds), and personalized financial communication.

  • Drive engagement on Wallet surfaces during and between trips, making the product feel valuable and revisitable — not just a utility reached at checkout.

  • Partner with Payments Engineering to expand the payment methods and financial capabilities available to guests across global markets.

  • Collaborate closely with platform product managers who build the payment and financial infrastructure Wallet sits on — delegating capability work generously, staying aligned on shared roadmaps.

  • Work closely with Checkout to ensure Wallet and payment setup reduce friction at the moment of booking.

  • Design and run A/B experiments to optimize conversion and engagement, translating data into product decisions.

  • Collaborate with Design to create guest-facing financial experiences that feel delightful and trustworthy.

  • Work with Trust & Safety, Fraud, and Finance to ensure payment flows are secure and compliant globally.

  • Define goals with clearly measurable OKRs and build cross-functional and executive alignment across Product, Engineering, Design, Finance, and Legal.

  • Inspire teams and leadership to support a long-term Wallet vision that grows from a financial hub into a platform for new guest financial products.

Your Expertise

  • 8+ years of product management experience, with deep experience building consumer-facing wallet, stored value, or digital financial products.

  • Proven track record making a financial product feel engaging and valuable beyond a utility — can speak to retention, return visits, and active engagement metrics.

  • Strong understanding of the payments ecosystem: card networks, digital wallets, BNPL/installments, local payment methods, and emerging payment rails.

  • Experience shipping payment method expansions or new payment capabilities at consumer scale.

  • Demonstrated success driving checkout or transaction conversion improvements through experimentation and data-driven iteration.

  • Strong design sensibility; experience partnering closely with design teams to make financial UX feel trustworthy, personalized, and proactively useful.

  • A collaborative working style with platform product teams — comfortable delegating capability work to partners and sharing ownership of integrations.

  • Demonstrated success building cross-functional alignment across Engineering, Design, Finance, Legal, and Payments stakeholders.

  • Experience working on consumer products at global scale, with sensitivity to how payment behaviors, regulations, and preferences vary by market.

  • Excited to drive execution across large cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment, while remaining hands-on with the product details.

  • Desire to do individual contributor product management work with a bias toward experimentation and iteration.
