They are seeking an experienced Director of Business Development for the Industrial Market to drive growth by building relationships with contractors and securing project opportunities while collaborating with internal teams to convert these opportunities into booked work. Responsibilities This role will focus on building relationships with general contractors (GCs) and preconstruction teams to position our company for project opportunities and secure work packages The successful candidate will work closely with internal engineering, operations, estimating, and project delivery teams to convert opportunities into booked work Proactively identify, pursue, and develop new business opportunities with prospective clients in the preconstruction and project pursuits, data centers, advanced manufacturing, early-stage pharmaceutical while also fostering and expanding relationships with existing key accounts Engage actively with a broad range of customer and client contacts to achieve strategic growth objectives Lead the sales process for identified opportunities, actively collaborating with internal functional business partners and operations teams to develop and propose solutions that meet client needs and D&Z's strategic goals Continuously explore the market landscape within their designated industry sectors (e.g., nuclear, industrial, fossil, solar) to understand trends, client challenges, and competitive dynamics Develop strategies to effectively position D&Z for success in current and emerging market segments Maintain diligent and active utilization of the CRM tool (Salesforce) to accurately track, manage, and report on all customer interactions, contacts, opportunities, and activities Ensures a robust and transparent sales pipeline for their assigned accounts/industry Provides market intelligence on industry to leadership and stakeholders Lead all proposal and contract negotiation activities for your respective clients in conjunction with the Client Development Director, Operations, and other Functional departments Skills 5-7 years of relevant experience in the data center, advanced manufacturing or industrial facilities, engineering-led or design-assist project delivery, estimating or preconstruction preferred 2+ years of prior business development or client-facing experience preferred 8+ years of construction experience including construction management preferred Proficient in standard computer applications, including Microsoft Office Suite. Demonstrated experience with CRM systems (e. g., Salesforce) is preferred Proven ability to identify, qualify, and close profitable business opportunities. Demonstrated success in developing and nurturing long-term client relationships across various organizational levels (mid-management through VP) Highly self-driven, self-motivated, and exhibits a strong entrepreneurial spirit in identifying and pursuing new avenues for growth and revenue. Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple opportunities, prioritize effectively, and maintain meticulous records within a CRM system Strong collaborative skills to work effectively with internal operations and functional teams Excellent verbal and written communication skills to articulate value propositions and influence decision-makers.
