The Business Intelligence Developer will act as a technical subject matter expert responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining analytic reports and dashboards, ensuring data quality and operational stability. Responsibilities • Act as a Business Intelligence technical subject matter expert (SME), responsible for the work associated in designing, developing, testing, maintaining and improving analytic reports and dashboards • Responsible for the ongoing operational stability of the reporting environment, ensuring objects are properly monitored and audited to provide data integrity, accuracy and timeliness of delivery • Work with the team to mockup the new reports and dashboards and determine the most elegant way to provide data to customers • Collaborate with team members (business analysts, database engineers and managers) with diverse and varied technical skills sets to design and develop customer specific reports • Ability to design and develop complicated reports including sub-reports, graphical reports, and well-formatted reports according to user requirements • Ability to collaborate with customer to suggest additional information and enhancements to report requests • Develop dashboards that tell a compelling story • Exhibit a commitment to data quality by validating results compared with the data warehouse database at each step of the development process • Participant in Agile development methodology; ability to write user stories with measurable results (acceptance criteria); attend daily stand up meetings and participation in retrospective and planning meetings • Work daily within a project team environment, taking direction from project management and technical leaders Skills • 10+ years of production level experience working with data, business intelligence toolsets and arenaflex Power BI, Tableau • 7+ years of data warehouse analysis experience, ability to read Data Flow Diagrams, Conceptual and Physical Models • 5+ years of PowerBI experience leveraging PowerBI Desktop DAX, Power Query • 5+ years of experience writing SQL used in report customizations • 5+ years of building analytical dashboard and reports in the Healthcare Vertical • 3+ years working in a cloud environment building analytical capabilities using PowerBI service, Snowflake • Proven keen observation skills and comfortable with complex data sets • Proven ability to champion and manage new initiatives to completion to improve and streamline operations processes and maximize systems efficiency • Proven excellent communication both written and verbal • Experience working with Medicaid data sets from MMIS systems • Experience with healthcare interoperability standards (HL7, FHIR) • Experience with advanced data modeling techniques; predictive modeling, link analysis, graphical analysis, supervised and unsupervised models • Experience with Power BI Embedded for custom application integration • Experience with advanced analytics integration (Python/R scripts within Power BI) • Understanding of Power BI REST API and embedding reports into applications • Proven solid analytical skills to identify trends, anomalies, and compliance risks in Medicaid data Benefits • Comprehensive benefits package • Incentive and recognition programs • Equity stock purchase • 401k contribution Company Overview • Optum is a healthcare company that provides pharmacy services, health care operations, and population health management.
