[Remote] Business Development Manager/Director – CRO Services (West Coast)

Novoprotein is seeking a Business Development Manager to drive growth of their CRO and research services business across the U.S. West Coast. This role involves identifying new business opportunities, building relationships with biotechnology and pharmaceutical companies, and expanding strategic accounts focused on antibody discovery, protein sciences, and AI-driven drug discovery. Responsibilities Develop and execute territory growth plans to achieve revenue targets Identify, qualify, and pursue new business opportunities within biotech, pharmaceutical, academic, and emerging AI-drug discovery companies Build and maintain a strong pipeline of opportunities across Novoprotein's service portfolio Manage the full sales cycle from prospecting through contract execution and project handoff Generate repeat business and expand existing customer relationships Develop relationships with scientific leaders, project teams, procurement groups, and executive stakeholders Understand customer research objectives and align Novoprotein capabilities to their needs Drive account growth through cross-selling and expansion of services Maintain high customer satisfaction and long-term strategic partnerships Present Novoprotein's capabilities in antibody discovery, protein production, high throughput expression, mRNA synthesis, characterization, and related CRO services Work with scientific teams to develop proposals, study designs, and technical solutions Translate complex scientific offerings into compelling customer value propositions Support scientific discussions and participate in client meetings throughout the project lifecycle Represent Novoprotein at industry conferences, scientific meetings, and partnering events Monitor competitive landscape, market trends, and customer needs Provide market intelligence and customer feedback to internal teams Identify emerging opportunities in AI-enabled drug discovery, biologics, immunotherapy, and cell & gene therapy markets Skills B.S., M.S., Ph.D., or equivalent experience in Life Sciences, Biotechnology, Molecular Biology, Immunology, or related field 3+ years of business development, sales, account management, or scientific consulting experience within the CRO, CDMO, biotech, or pharmaceutical industry Strong understanding of drug discovery, biologics development, protein sciences, or antibody technologies Proven ability to build customer relationships and manage complex sales cycles Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills Ability to work independently within a fast-growing organization Existing network within West Coast biotechnology and pharmaceutical companies Experience selling antibody discovery, protein expression, biologics characterization, cell and gene therapy, or related research services Experience working with venture-backed biotechnology startups and emerging therapeutics companies Familiarity with CRM platforms such as Salesforce, HubSpot, Apollo, or similar tools Benefits Competitive base salary, commission structure, and performance incentives. 401(K), PTO, medical insurance Company Overview Novoprotein Scientific Inc.
