Probation Court Liaison - Social Worker/Mental Health Counselor
About the position
The Charles Evans Center (CEC) is seeking a full-time Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) or Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) to act as a liaison with the Nassau Problem Solving Courts. This role involves conducting assessments for substance use among individuals with legal involvement and referring them to appropriate services. The position is dedicated to providing compassionate care to underserved community members, particularly those facing substance use disorders.
Responsibilities
- Conduct assessments for substance use disorders for clients involved with the legal system. ,
- Refer clients to appropriate services based on assessment outcomes. ,
- Serve as a liaison with the Nassau Problem Solving Courts. ,
- Collaborate with other social service providers in Nassau County. ,
- Maintain accurate records of assessments and referrals.
Requirements
- Master's degree in Social Work or Mental Health Counseling. ,
- Current New York LMSW or LMHC license. ,
- Strong clinical experience in social work or mental health counseling. ,
- Competency in assessing and evaluating substance use disorders. ,
- Dedication to the forensic social work field.
