The Boeing Company is currently seeking a highly motivated and skilled Virtual Reality Integration Engineer to join our dynamic South Carolina Engineering Design Center.

Position Overview:

In this role you will support engineering decisions across product design, production system design, manufacturing, maintenance, and human safety by developing immersive Virtual Reality (VR) scenes and scenarios. You will create and deliver concise report-out materials for engineering and leadership and act as the focal point for advanced visualization lab(s), maintaining the hardware and software required to run effective VR reviews.

Mission Airplane-level collaborative digital design integration and analysis to verify/validate that the product is integrated, interference free, producible, maintainable, serviceable, and safe prior to design release - enabling First Pass Quality.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Continuously develop, validate, and deliver technical data for airplane maintenance and fault isolation, ensuring adherence to Instructions for Continued Airworthiness and FAA/Foreign Regulatory standards.
  • Analyzes complex engineering designs, supplier specifications, and engine manufacturer design data to identify and formulate maintenance, repair, and tooling support requirements.
  • Develops configuration-specific procedures and instructions accordingly.
  • Drives product designs and process improvements to ensure safety, supportability and maintainability.
  • Develops and implements fault isolation procedures and techniques.
  • Creates comprehensive system theory descriptions to ensure a common understanding of systems and components.
  • Conducts engineering analyses to validate the accuracy of maintenance data.
  • Collaborates with customers to address inquiries, develop technical solutions, and assess maintenance operations.
  • Innovates new procedures and techniques to enhance product maintenance capabilities.
  • Participates in organizational activities that influence the Aerospace Industry.

Work Authorization:

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at North Charleston, SC location.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/ Experience):
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), computer science, engineering data science, mathematics, physics or chemistry, or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of experience working in engineering with cross-functional or cross-organizational teams.
  • Strong CAD interoperability skills and experience
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to produce concise report-outs for multi-function leadership.

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
  • Formal training or experience in human factors, ergonomics, or safety engineering.
  • Strong CATIA and IVT interoperability skills and experience.
  • Familiarity with MBOM/EBOM concepts and manufacturing/assembly process visualization.
  • Certifications or coursework in VR/AR development, simulation, or continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Hands-on experience with real-time engines and VR development tools such as Unity or Unreal Engine.

Summary Pay Range:
  • Experienced (Level 3): $103,700 - $140,300
  • Lead (Level 4): $126,650 - $171,350
