The responsibility of the Manager of Refrigeration is to oversee the installation of the refrigeration and mechanical systems including responsibility for the budgeting, design, construction, and startup of refrigeration systems for all new Clubs remodels and program rollouts. Additional responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Manage the installation of the mechanical and refrigeration systems for new clubs, remodels, and program rollouts
  • Provide leadership direction and supervision of refrigeration specialists
  • Develop, implement, and maintain departmental controls necessary to manage installation of all Club mechanical systems Implement and update an ongoing program of prototypical equipment review, to efficiently provide life cycle costed mechanical systems that meet the needs of the company's development program
  • Consult with other department heads to ensure that systems can be modified to meet changing needs of the business
  • Develop and manage current budgeting information for all projects, as well as provide budgeting and cost information to other departments for upcoming program work and prototype changes
  • Track costs of mechanical systems on all ongoing projects to ensure conformance to budget and schedule constraints
  • Manage the refrigeration bid process for both annual equipment bids and individual project installation.
  • Coordinate with Construction Project Managers and Refrigeration Technicians to insure adequate resources of mechanical equipment, refrigeration system designers and installation contractors
  • Maintain contracts for all purchased systems and installations
  • Review and approve mechanical systems invoicing and change orders for compliance with contract requirements
  • Coordinate turnover of completed projects with Facilities Department, ensuring that all warranty items, purchased maintenance contracts and building systems walkthroughs have been completed in compliance with contractual requirements
Requirements
  • Refrigeration Trade School certificate or Mechanical Engineering degree and/or minimum of 10 years related field and supervisory experience in a retail building environment
  • Ten years plus working in the refrigeration field
  • Working knowledge of retail HVAC and refrigeration systems design, general familiarity of electrical systems, and operational knowledge of computerized EMS System
  • Overall understanding of club requirements with regard to all mechanical and refrigeration systems
  • Ability to coordinate and understand the design requirements of the Operations group for refrigerated systems, including limitations on product shelf life and display requirements
  • Ability to travel aprox. 80%

Actual salaries will vary depending on factors including but not limited to location, education, experience, and qualifications. The pay range for this position is starting from $115,000.00.
