Job Summary

Progressive Technology is seeking a talented and detail-oriented Freelance Translator with fluency in English and Mandarin to support a growing volume of translation projects. This role is ideal for linguistically gifted professionals with a passion for language accuracy, cultural nuance, and technical precision. As a freelance translator, you will work on a variety of content types including business documentation, technical manuals, marketing materials, and more.

Key Responsibilities

  • Translate written materials from English to Mandarin and vice versa, ensuring context and meaning are preserved.

  • Review and proofread translations for accuracy, grammar, and terminology.

  • Adapt language to suit target audiences while preserving the original tone and intent.

  • Collaborate with internal teams or clients to clarify terminology and project requirements.

  • Ensure timely delivery of completed translation tasks according to project deadlines.

  • Maintain confidentiality and data protection standards in all communications and documents.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Native or near-native fluency in both English and Mandarin (Simplified/Traditional).

  • Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills in both languages.

  • Familiarity with CAT tools (e.g., SDL Trados, MemoQ, Smartcat) is highly preferred.

  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to maintain consistency in terminology.

  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines.

Experience

  • Minimum of 2 years of professional translation experience (freelance or in-house).
