  • This position will be located at GPC Headquarters in Atlanta, GA.
  • Hybrid work schedule (both in-office and telecommute); currently four (4) days in-office and one
(1) day telecommute.
  • Relocation assistance may be provided if the successful candidate does not currently live within a reasonable commute distance.
  • This position will require some travel (day and overnight, up to 25%) and the ability to work successfully in a remote/virtual environment with access to internet service.

The Distributed Generation ("DG") Renewable Project Manager facilitates the interconnection and contracting of Distributed Energy Resources (DERs) through a Request for Proposal (RFP). The Project Manager is responsible for customer and solar developer interaction through all phases of project consideration.

This role is responsible for the collaborative development, implementation and management of RFP renewable projects and managing Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs) and/or Interconnection Agreements (IAs).

This position works with large and diverse teams across various departments within Southern Company and externally to successfully implement DG projects from initial developer contact through contracting, interconnection, and billing to achieve commercial operation.

Job Responsibilities
  • Act as the project manager and primary technical point of contact for RFP projects ensuring that both internal and external stakeholders meet the necessary requirements to fulfill contractual and interconnection obligations to developers.
  • Draft, interpret, and execute Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs) and Interconnection Agreements (IAs)
  • Take ownership and responsibility for quality control of all PPA and IA contracts
  • Foster and maintain strong working relationships and communicate effectively with internal and external parties
  • Identify and implement process improvements and program enhancements utilizing customer and developer feedback
  • Support after-hours storm restoration efforts as needed
Job Qualifications

Education & Experience:
  • 4-year accredited BS/BA Degree OR direct experience with project coordination and customer interaction
  • Demonstrated experience in project management, working directly with customers, renewable development and/or regulatory programs preferred
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
  • Proven or demonstrated leadership, effective communication, and strong interpersonal skills
  • Proven problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex issues and prioritize work effectively with minimal supervision
  • Ability to learn interconnection policies, program guidelines, and PPA/IA documentation for proper execution and administration of program requirements
  • Experience managing multiple projects, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and effectively interacting with external and internal stakeholders
  • Effective at building and leveraging internal and cross-functional relationships to achieve goals
