<p><strong>Hiring Range: $16.09 - $18.50 hourly</strong></p><p><strong>Open until filled</strong></p><p><br></p><p id="isPasted"><strong><u>GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES:</u> </strong>Performs skilled work in focused and concentrated areas of the Parks and Recreation Department.  </p><p><strong><u>DISTINGUISHING FEATURES OF THE CLASS:</u> </strong>Under general supervision an employee in this class performs skilled work involving various areas of parks and recreation.   Such areas are defined as Train Operator; Splash Pad Operator; Building Attendants, AV and Technical Operators, Bus Driver, Athletic Specialist, or Concessions Supervisors.  An employee in this class performs related work as required. </p><p><strong><u>ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:</u></strong><em> The duties listed below are intended only as illustrations of the various types of work that may be performed.  The omission of specific statements of duties does not exclude them from the position if the work is similar, related, or a logical assignment of the position.</em></p><p><strong><em>Concessions Operations specifically includes:</em></strong></p><ul type="disc" style="margin-bottom: 3pt;"><li style="font-weight: bold;"><strong>Opening and closing of concession stand facilities.</strong></li><li style="font-weight: bold;"><strong>Accountable for distributing start-up cash to splash pad and carousel as needed.</strong></li><li style="font-weight: bold;"><strong>Controlling admissions to train and carousel by selling tickets; selling concessions</strong></li><li style="font-weight: bold;"><strong>Work concessions facilities at several parks and facilities and run register.</strong></li><li style="font-weight: bold;"><strong>Maintaining daily work records, including revenue reports </strong></li><li style="font-weight: bold;"><strong>Responsible for closing procedures and making nightly deposits.</strong></li><li style="font-weight: bold;"><strong>Assists with maintaining product inventory at concession stands.</strong></li><li style="font-weight: bold;"><strong>Working independently to provide superior customer service to guests and patrons.</strong></li></ul><p><strong><em>General Duties of All</em></strong></p><ul style="margin-bottom: 3pt;"><li>Enforces rules and regulations at parks and facilities.</li><li>Performs routine cleaning and custodial duties.</li><li>Performs related tasks as required.</li></ul><p id="isPasted"><strong><u>REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:</u></strong>Working and detailed knowledge of the specific operation in one or more of the concentrated areas of this position is required.  Some supervisory experience is preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and training. Must be certified in First Aid and CPR or have the ability to pass certification course.  Must have the ability to get along well with others; and the ability to work unusual hours, especially nights and weekends. Must pass a criminal background check.</p><p><strong><u>ACCEPTABLE EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING:</u></strong>High school graduate or GED; must be at least 18 years of age, except that bus drivers must be at least 21 years of age.   If required to operate a city vehicle, Valid NC driver’s license or ability to obtain prior to hire and a safe driving history is also required.  Assignment as a bus driver requires possession of a CDL with passenger endorsement.</p><p><strong>Additional Information:</strong></p><ul style="margin-bottom: 3pt;"><li>Bus driver must possess and maintain a NC Class B commercial driver's license (CDL) with a passenger (P) endorsement for the duration of employment with a 3-year safe driving history verified by a NC Division of Motor Vehicles</li><li>If operating a City vehicle a NC Class C drivers’ license is required for the entire duration of employment.</li></ul><p><br></p><undefined><strong id="isPasted"><u>JOB RELATED PHYSICAL ACTIVITY REQUIREMENTS:</u> </strong>This is work requiring the exertion of up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects; work requires reaching, walking, stooping, crouching, standing, lifting, fingering, grasping, and repetitive motions; vocal communication is required for expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word; hearing is required to perceive information at normal spoken word levels; visual acuity is required for preparing and analyzing written or computer data, operation of machines, determining the accuracy and thoroughness of work, and observing general surroundings and activities; the worker is subject to inside and outside environmental conditions<br></undefined>
