Clinical Coordinator - Surgical Specialties - Days

Hourly Pay Range: $40.45 - $62.70 - The hourly pay rate offered is determined by a candidate's expertise and years of experience, among other factors.

Full Time: Provides leadership, direction, and resource (human and material) management to assure appropriate implementation of policies and procedures for delivery of patient care, assesses the effectiveness of resources and facilitates teamwork, positive work environment and collaboration between all members of the health care team. Participates in development of the department's vision and planning. Plans, schedules and adjusts staff to meet department and hospital requirements.

Assists surgical teams in achieving quality patient outcomes by managing day-to-day Operating Room (OR) operations and facilitating collaboration among the interdisciplinary team, i.e., surgeons, anesthesiologists, surgical assistants, scheduling coordinators and other departments to meet the clinical care coordination needs of patients. Communicates and collaborates with other surgical support areas to provide continuous, smooth transition of care and day-to-day operations between units. Provides oversight to ensure adequate unit supplies, equipment, and stock.

Interviews, recommends hires, disciplines and recommends discharges (when necessary) subordinate team members in accordance with Northwest Community Hospital (NCH) policies and procedures. Regularly evaluates the ongoing performance of team members in accordance with the hospital's performance management system. Organizes and conducts monthly staff meetings to review data findings, discuss problems identified with system related issues, outcomes, standards of practice, and/or other related practice issues.

Assesses patient plans of care, acuity levels and census data to identify and plan for variances in staff or material resource adjustments. Flexes staff to meet census fluctuations assuring that appropriate staff resources are assigned to meet patient needs and acuity. Serves as a consultant to other care settings on patients in area of specialty.

Participates in direct care as appropriate demonstrating the knowledge and skills necessary to assess, treat, and provide care appropriate to the age(s) of the patients served on the assigned unit. Collaborates with Director to identify unit goals and to ensure that they are met. Identifies, initiates, and participates in performance improvement opportunities.

Bachelors Degree Nursing Preferred The organizational skills to manage daily operations, coordinate multiple projects simultaneously, prioritize work according to timelines and monitor outcomes and actions. Ability to perform computer skills necessary for data inquiry and data entry. The ability to project a professional image that is consistent with the NCH value of customer focus.
