Job Summary

The Elite Job, a premier recruitment partner for top-tier airline services, is seeking enthusiastic and customer-focused Check-in Agents to support South Africas leading domestic and international airlines. As a Check-in Agent, you will be the first point of contact for passengers, providing exceptional service while ensuring efficient and smooth check-in procedures. This is a high-energy, fast-paced role ideal for individuals who thrive in dynamic airport environments and are passionate about travel and customer service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Greet passengers with professionalism and a welcoming attitude

  • Verify travel documents such as passports, visas, and tickets

  • Process passenger check-in using airline computer systems

  • Issue boarding passes and manage baggage check-in procedures

  • Handle special service requests including seat allocations, upgrades, and assistance for passengers with reduced mobility

  • Address customer queries, resolve issues, and escalate when necessary

  • Coordinate with airline staff, security, and ground crew to ensure timely boarding

  • Monitor and comply with all airline, airport, and regulatory guidelines

  • Uphold the airlines image through excellent customer service and personal presentation

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Matric Certificate or equivalent (Grade 12 minimum)

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English (additional local languages are advantageous)

  • Proficient in basic computer operations and airline systems (training provided)

  • Strong interpersonal skills and a friendly, approachable demeanor

  • Ability to remain calm and efficient under pressure

  • Must be able to pass airport security clearance and background checks

Experience

  • 1–2 years of experience in customer service, hospitality, or a similar client-facing role

  • Previous work in the airline or travel industry is highly desirable but not mandatory

  • Fresh graduates with strong communication and interpersonal skills are encouraged to apply

Working Hours

  • Rotational shift work, including weekends and public holidays

  • Shifts may include early mornings, late evenings, or overnight based on flight schedules

  • Flexibility is essential due to the nature of airport operations
