Amazon Picker Packer - Flexible Shifts
About the position
As an Amazon Delivery Station Warehouse Associate, you will be an integral part of a dedicated team at the delivery station, which serves as the final stop before packages are delivered to customers. This role is fast-paced and active, requiring you to receive trucks full of orders and prepare them for delivery. Your responsibilities will include loading conveyor belts, transporting, and staging deliveries for drivers to pick up. You will utilize technology such as smartphones and handheld devices to sort, scan, and prepare orders, ensuring that inventory is ready for delivery. In addition to these tasks, you will be responsible for building, wrapping, sorting, and transporting pallets and packages. The role demands physical capability, as you will need to lift items weighing up to 49 pounds and perform various physical activities such as standing, walking, pushing, pulling, squatting, bending, and reaching throughout your shifts. You may also be required to navigate stairs and work at heights of up to 40 feet on a mezzanine, depending on the specific location and role. The work environment at an Amazon Delivery Station is dynamic, with moving machines such as order pickers, stand-up forklifts, turret trucks, and mobile carts. You will experience varying temperatures, which can range from 60°F to over 90°F in certain areas, particularly in the truck yard or inside trailers. Noise levels can be high, and hearing protection is provided if necessary. The dress code is relaxed, but safety is paramount, requiring comfortable, closed-toe shoes, and in some cases, protective safety footwear. Amazon also offers a $110 Zappos gift code for new hires to purchase appropriate footwear for their first day.
